Hey delegates! Welcome to DISEC!! My name is Jolie Leung, and I’ll be another one of your vice chairs this year. I’m a first year here at Cal pursuing a major in political science, and I’m very excited to see what research and arguments you all bring to committee! Our topics are extremely relevant to the international community, and I am a firm believer that discourse is critical to further education and meaningful action in the world today. I hope to see some great discourse and argumentation from you all throughout conference. Aside from BMUN, I also work part time as an assistant public forum debate coach for my high school, Archbishop Mitty in San Jose. Both these opportunities offer great experiences to educate and discuss current events and more with my peers, as I hope you get to do during conference. Hello delegates, and welcome to DISEC! My name is Shayna Kothari, and I'll be one of your vice chairs during BMUN LXVII! I'm a second-year student here at Cal studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Human Rights, and I'm excited to be chairing you. The topics we'll be discussing are important topics in international relations, and I hope to see a lot of great dialogue over the course of the conference. On campus, I'm also involved in assistive technology design, prison education programs, and computer science education. Outside of school, I enjoy learning about technology ethics, poetry, and the environment (also: superheroes). In my free time, I love to peruse the aisles of Trader Joe's and read books! I'm excited to meet you in March, and I can't wait to see what you bring to the table!

So a little bit about me: I am currently a Sophomore here at UC Berkeley intending to study Economics and Business Administration. I love the course material and am really interested in this field mostly because of the huge part it plays in day to day life.
